Community-based Instruction
Stepping Out is a comprehensive program that takes instruction out of the classroom and into the community. Students learn by performing a balanced blend of skills—from shopping to banking to doing laundry—on planned outings.

The instructor’s guide sets lesson plans and shows how to use materials, covering 30 community outings with implementation plans. Step-by-step analysis is provided for each outing. Has 47 reproducible masters, including: Home questionnaire, training site analysis, progress report, home report, assessments sheets, and dining, shopping and banking aids.
