Please note that ReadingPen is for reading assistance only. It is best for users who occasionally need a word or sentence spoken aloud and defined. For users who need entire pages or books read aloud, please see our Reading Machines section.

See - Displays syllable breaks, definitions, synonyms and translations of
the scanned text on the LCD screen
Hear - Reads the scanned text aloud, including its definitions and
synonyms with ScanSoft® Text-to-Speech software through the integrated speaker
or headphones.
Define - Readingpen® Basic Edition K-12: Contains over 250,000 words from
K-12 Grade level dictionaries and English-Spanish translation.
Readingpen® Advanced Edition: Contains over 500,000 words from the American
Heritage® College Dictionary, 4th Edition and Roget’s II The New Thesaurus.
Store - Retains a history of the last 80 words scanned for easy review.
Text Recognition - The Readingpen® reads a wide range of printed fonts
and sizes (6-22 points), including inverted text.
Left-handed Support - If you’re left-handed, don’t worry! The Readingpen®
can be set for convenient left- or right-handed use.
