Edit or readback text from any scanner Scan2Text is an easy to use, quality publishing tool that allows for easy access to printed text using any standard scanner. Scan2Text utilizes the OmniPage OCR engine which is the world's best selling OCR software. Powerful new OCR technology, advanced layout analysis and intuitive editing tools allow you to quickly turn paper and PDF files into editable electronic documents that look just like the original – complete with text, tables and graphics.

You can convert text on paper from your scanner, or convert PDF files and other text contained in image files such as .tif format. Scan2Text is operated from within Microsoft Word, by adding just 3 extra menu items to the Word File Menu. With Scan2Text you scan documents, letters and papers, and the text is dropped straight into Microsoft Word.

The text can then be edited, or readback by any screenreader. You can choose to retain the original format of the document and retain or remove images. You can also open previously scanned image files, as well as open PDFs!
