Scanning Software


Scanning software allows a user to operate their computer with a switch.  Scanning software will systematically highlight portions of the computer screen.  Different scanning programs accomplish this in different manners. When the part of the program or the monitor the user wants to click on is highlighted, they activate their switch and it simulates a mouse click on that portion of the screen. Word prediction software (see Mobility section) can be used in conjunction with scanning software to increase typing speed.
