- Speech at Logon
- Use speech output at the Windows Login Screen. To enable this option, you first need to enable the speech from your control panel. You can then enable speech at logon from the "Startup Preferences" in your control panel, and also select the speech synthesiser language used at the logon screens.
- Supports a wide range of Serial, USB & Bluetooth Braille Displays
- Computer & Literary Braille, Grades 1 & 2
- Supports Physical & Logical Braille
- Logical Braille Mode: the Braille display will show the logical association of any text within the current focus. This mode is similar to a screen reader's speech output, and is particularly useful for working with dialog boxes, as the screen reader will associate the text labels in a dialog box with their corresponding controls.
- Physical Braille Mode: displays the physical layout of objects on the screen. In Physical Mode, when the current control is not an edit area, the characters of the focus will be underlined by raising dots 7 and 8.
- Literary Braille input (on supported Braille hardware)
- If your Braille display includes input keys, there is no need to reach for your Qwerty keyboard. You can write in contracted or uncontracted Braille using your Braille input keys, and the translated text will appear directly in your application. With Dolphin's Braille input, there is no need to carry out any additional steps to back translate from Braille to text.
- Braille Verbosity Schemes
- Create Bespoke Braille Verbosity Settings
- Show Braille on Screen
- When selected, shows a small window on a fixed position of the screen which mirrors the contents of the Braille display.
- Fully accessible control panel
- No matter whether you are using speech, magnification or Braille, you can reach all of the Dolphin functionality and features that you require, using the keyboard, your Braille display, or the mouse.
- Settings (configuration) files
- Many users find they want to change their magnification, visual, speech and/or Braille settings when working in different applications. For instance, some users prefer a little extra magnification in Excel, whilst others prefer less verbosity when browsing the web.
- Create situation Settings
- Within an application setting, you can also define one or more "situation". Situations are most popularly defined for secondary windows, such as pop-up dialog boxes. Each of these defined situations can have its own unique set of output settings. For example, you may want to have the punctuation level announcement increased when in an application's spell checker is running, or perhaps have the colour changer enabled when a certain window pops up.

- Supports Dolphin Scripts
- Application Sensitive Dolphin Help
- Doc Reader
