The Creature Games by Laureate Learning Systems
Everybody loves computer games, but these programs are unique. They can be enjoyed by children with severe/profound disabilities, including those functioning as low as four months of age. These programs work much the same way, but each offers a different set of games and cast of characters.. A natural sounding voice prompts the user to participate. Every time a response is made, a zany character puts on a hilarious performance. Long after children understand their ability to affect the environment, they'll still enjoy playing these entertaining games.
Creature Antics Creature Antics has a cast of five different characters, each with its own animated routine. A natural sounding voice prompts the user to participate. When the user activates a switch, a zany creature puts on a hilarious performance. Additional switch activations cause the routine to change and continue.
Creature Capers Creatures Capers introduces a whole new cast of characters, with similarly silly animation. What will these crazy creatures do next? When the user activates a switch, a creature leaps into action.
Creature Features Add to your creature collection! Creature Features uses a similar format to Creature Antics and Creature Capers, but five new characters will dazzle you with their amazing animation.
Creature Cartoons This program contains five cartoons, each with an amusing story line. It can be used to train cause and effect and turn-taking, but also works well with higher functioning children who have motor impairments and need practice using a single switch.
Creature Magic This program has four exciting games that introduce important language and cognitive concepts. Just activate a switch and the Wiz performs entertaining animated routines. In the first game, the Wiz introduces the concept of non-existence by making things appear and disappear. In the second game, he demonstrates the difference between one and more than one object. The third game illustrates the prepositions "in" and "on" and the fourth game shows the importance of word order in simple sentences.
These games are not only fun to play, they offer valuable language enrichment.
