Pronoun Perspective Sterling Edition™
 |
This all-new program is designed for students who struggle with 1st and 2nd person pronouns. These deficits impact both oral and written performance.

Many children with language impairments, and particularly those with Autism Spectrum Disorders, have difficulty understanding the 1st and 2nd person speaker/listener relationship. This leads to problems reporting on and reading narrative texts that require understanding of “Who said what to whom.” In terms of 1st and 2nd person pronoun reference, students must understand that when the speaker refers to her/himself, s/he uses 1st person pronouns and when s/he refers to the listener, 2nd person pronouns are used.
This program provides practice comprehending 1st and 2nd person pronouns from a narrative perspective where the user is an observer. This approach differs from and complements the approach used for teaching 1st and 2nd person pronouns in Laureate’s LanguageLinks. In those programs there is just one character on the screen and the student is always the second person.
Suggested for students (PreK-8) with:
- Autism, pragmatic disorders, and developmental disabilities
- Also English language learners (PreK-6)

Individualized Instruction
The program begins with an assessment to determine where to begin training. As the student works, the software continually monitors his or her responses and uses this information to provide highly individualized language intervention. When the student masters both forms in a Module, the program automatically moves to the next Module.
These programs offer two types of reinforcement for correct answers: either the noun/verb animates or amusing characters perform a short skit using enriched language.
Document Performance
Pronoun Perspective features extensive data collection to document student performance and ensure accountability.
Comprehensive reports are automatically generated at the end of each session allowing speech-language pathologists and special educators to quickly and easily review a student’s progress over time.
