Scan And Say is a TALKING barcode package for your Windows-based PC. It allows a sight-impaired person to scan a barcoded item and hear the product’s description over their PC’s speakers. You can even produce a shopping list of items that can be used by a sighted person at the grocery store.

• Easy to operate using just your keyboard. No mouse required.

• The omni-directional scanner provided with Scan And Say has 20 scan lines, just like in the grocery store. This allows anyone to be able to scan a product’s barcode without needing to see where the barcode is located.

• You can use the manufacturer’s descriptions that come with Scan And Say or you can enter your own! Example – instead of hearing “Breyer's Ice Cream, Mint Chocolate Chip”, you can have it say “My favorite ice cream”.

• The Scan and Say voice is easy to understand and clearly reads the products description from the database of approximately 500,000 products. You can easily add new products in the future AND you can add descriptions for items without barcodes using the 500 pre-printed barcode labels (included).

• Print a shopping list using an on-screen menu option. On-screen words are extra large to aid partially sighted people.

• Scan and Say will announce the shopping list when it appears on your screen. Additionally, ALL fields and buttons are optionally announced as you TAB to them.

• You can optionally TIME-STAMP items as they are scanned. That TIME-STAMP can then be optionally read aloud the next time an item is scanned. This is especially helpful for remembering when you last took a medicine.
