Sound Activated Switch
The Sound Switch's primary application is to provide a switch closure to
control other assistive devices in response to sound production. It is
expected that this device will be used by persons who have limited
ability to produce sounds with the larynx or voice box because of
cerebral palsy, traumatic brain injury, brainstem stroke, or nerve
damage due to injury or surgery.
The Sound Switch weighs less than a pound and is packaged in a plastic
case that measures 4.5 inches x 2.5 inches x .75 inch. All controls are
on the front panel, while the input and output ports are located on the
top panel. It has a removable belt clip. The Sound Switch is powered by
two AA batteries.
