Communicate Without Using
Speech
Interpretype® consists of a pre-programmed laptop style computer device which
has the ability to send and display typed messages to other ITY™ devices or a
computer. Once you log on, you can have conversations by simply
reading and typing. Each Interpretype® device is configured to communicate
directly with any Windows PC utilizing Interpretype® software. This allows
Interpretype® to become a computer peripheral device for communicating with the
user of any workstation. It also gives the user the ability to capture and print
conversations if desired.
Each ITY device is smaller than
a standard laptop computer yet utilizes a full size keyboard for speed and
accuracy in typing. The screen is relatively small and has a low profile that
enables users to maintain eye contact for a more personal interaction.
Interpretype® can be
plugged in to any standard outlet or powered by the included rechargeable
batteries. This allows Interpretype® plenty of versatility regarding placement
in any business, government or educational environment.

Display - Acer Laptop with XP Home Edition and full color 8.9" screen.
Viewing - Unlimited font size and style for easy reading. Brightness adjustments for sub-optimal lighting environments.
Connectivity USB to USB, Ethernet, or Wireless Wi-Fi access to the following services:
Face to Face text messaging
VRS - Video Relay Service
VRI - Video Remote Interpreting
OPI - Over the Phone Remote Language Translation
Range - Unlimited LAN or wireless router up to 450 feet in any direction. Connect up to 100 participants to a single conversation.
Conversation Transcripts - Every system will save and print a verbatim transcript of a conversation with the date, time, and conversation participants.
Portability - Each Interpretype system is 9.75 x 7 x 1.5 inches and weighs two pounds. They have up to six hours of battery life or can be plugged into any AC outlet.
ITY for Windows Software -
Macro
Key Toolbar
has been added as an optional sidebar to the main window.
This new
feature displays each macro statement in the set. Users can be certain of the
macro statement behind the corresponding F- key, which accelerates the
communication process by making it more accurate.
Macros
sets can be changed “on the fly” thereby adding value to the feature such that
macro sets with more than ten statements are much easier to use.
ITY Communicator Upgrade -
If you
purchase the new Language Translation Program,
you may require system upgrades on your ITY for Windows software. System upgrades will be at no charge
provided the unit in question remains under warranty.
