Eating is one of life’s greatest pleasures, but this isn’t the case for millions of people. Everyone deserves access to independent and fulfilling dining experiences. Obi is a turnkey eating aid that takes the focus away from physically managing the feeding process, providing a sense of freedom and independence.
Obi accommodates a spectrum of people who have difficulty feeding themselves. It works by automating the motion of a human arm and becomes an extension of the diner, allowing them to select the food of their choice and dictating the pace at which the food is fed to them.
With just two buttons, an on/off button and one to teach the feeding delivery position, it couldn’t be simpler. Just sit at the table and place Obi’s spoon in front of the diner’s mouth and Obi will remember that feeding position until a new delivery position is taught.
Obi is FDA compliant (21-CFR, Class 1 Medical Device), and UL certified. Made with FDA approved food-grade and BPA free plastics. Microwave, freezer, and dishwasher safe.
